EU Green Tour e-Magazine: Young Voices for a Greener Europe
What happens when sustainability education moves beyond the classroom and students become the storytellers?
This is at the heart of the EU Green Tour e-Magazine, an international online publication developed within the Erasmus+ EU Green Tour project. Bringing together experiences from Italy, Sweden, Greece and Ukraine, the e-Magazine gives young people an opportunity to explore sustainability, local communities, tourism and cultural and environmental heritage through digital journalism.

EU Green Tour combines green education, digital media literacy and work-based learning. Rather than learning about sustainability only through traditional classroom activities, students are encouraged to research, communicate and create content around issues that matter to their communities. The project aims to strengthen their ability to participate actively in sustainability and digital citizenship while developing skills relevant to the changing labour market.
From learners to eco-digital creators
The e-Magazine is one of the main results of the EU Green Tour project. Its development is closely connected with the project’s interdisciplinary Green Curriculum and training in digital media literacy. Students progressively apply what they have learned by contributing to a real online publication and gaining practical experience with digital communication and journalism.
Through articles, interviews, video reports and other digital formats, the young contributors can investigate environmental resources, sustainable tourism, cultural heritage and initiatives taking place in their territories. The e-Magazine already features stories addressing topics ranging from sustainable tourism and food waste to nature, responsible mobility, sustainable fashion and the future of local communities.
This makes the e-Magazine more than a communication channel for the project. It is also a learning environment created with and for young people, where sustainability knowledge is transformed into communication, creativity and action.
By connecting students and educators across different European contexts, EU Green Tour demonstrates how vocational education can help young people become not only more environmentally aware, but also more confident and responsible digital communicators.
The journey is continuing, and more young voices and stories are still to come.
