The Green Curriculum of the EU Green Tour project is an innovative educational framework designed to integrate sustainability competences into Initial Vocational Education and Training (IVET). Developed by VET institutions from Italy, Greece, Sweden, and Ukraine, the curriculum responds to the urgent need to equip young learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to address today’s environmental, social, and economic challenges. Grounded in UNESCO’s Greening Curriculum Guidance and aligned with the European GreenComp framework, the curriculum is structured around five key thematic areas: Weather, Climate and Climate Change; Reconnecting with and Protecting Nature; Addressing Climate Misinformation and Disinformation; Responsible Consumption; and Sustainable Living Spaces. Through 25 interdisciplinary Learning Units, students engage in active, project-based learning experiences rooted in their local territories, fostering systems thinking, critical awareness, and concrete action for sustainability. The Green Curriculum positions VET education as a driver of ecological transition, empowering learners to become responsible professionals and active citizens in a greener Europe.
